Terracotta Warriors – VR
Immersive virtual reality experience bringing ancient history to life.
The mission
In collaboration with VIVE Arts and Wevr, I worked as part of a team on the virtual reality experience Terracotta Warriors: Secrets of the First Emperor’s Mausoleum. This 40-minute, location-based VR journey allows visitors to explore the sealed chambers of Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s tomb—spaces untouched for over two millennia.
My contribution focused on cinematic camera work and enhancing lighting within Unreal Engine, helping to craft a visually immersive and emotionally impactful experience. The project merges historical accuracy with cutting-edge technology, offering a new way to engage with one of the world’s greatest archaeological wonders.
Presented in Xi’an, China, the experience runs on VIVE Focus Vision headsets using Location-Based Software Suite (LBSS), enabling multiple visitors to explore the environment simultaneously in real time.
