An alien world built from scratch in Unreal Engine, exploring the edges of technology and design.
The mission
Refract is a fully immersive digital environment created in Unreal Engine, designed to push the boundaries of both creative world-building and technical execution. The project imagines a cyberpunk-inspired desert planet, blending alien surrealism with futuristic atmosphere.
I was responsible for building the entire scene from scratch—handling environment creation, lighting design, camera composition, and rendering. Working alongside my team, this project tested both our skills and our hardware, pushing Unreal Engine to its limits.
Refract is currently being developed into a video game, expanding this surreal universe into an interactive experience.
